What unique cleaning techniques does Hilary Erickson recommend for tile floors?

Hilary Erickson recommends a few unique techniques for cleaning tile floors. One of them is using a mixture of vinegar and baking soda. However, she advises not to use them together in your cleaning solution as it causes a chemical reaction that makes them fairly useless. Instead, she suggests using them separately.

For instance, she uses about 1/4 vinegar, the rest hot clean water, and about 2 drops dish detergent. This vinegar solution is a great homemade cleaner.

As for baking soda, she warns to be thoughtful about its usage. While it's effective, you don’t want white baking soda residue all over your clean floors. A baking soda paste (just some baking soda and water) is the best way to clean stubborn stains in grout — just be sure to rinse it off well.

She also recommends using a vacuum cleaner for full vacuuming and a robotic vacuum for nightly cleaning. For mopping, she uses a Rubbermaid mop and occasionally, she steam cleans her floors with a steam clean machine.
