I moved from Blogger to self-hosted WordPress because I wanted more control and better potential for SEO and growth. On Blogger, I was getting almost no search engine traffic and I hated that Google could take my blog down at any time.

The transition itself was rough: steep learning curve, lots of tech headaches, and I spent dozens of hours tweaking design, menus, margins, and ads. In the short term, my stats actually dipped because I was so focused on the move that I wasn’t promoting or pinning as much.

Long term, I do feel it was worth it. WordPress gives me far more control, better SEO tools, and room to scale, and I believe that’s helped my site grow and diversify income over time, even though it wasn’t an instant bump.

Are you thinking about moving your own site, or just curious how it played out for me?
