Hi, I’m Hilary Erickson from The Pregnancy Nurse and Pulling Curls. Here’s what I personally use and talk about in my episodes:

  • Microfiber cloths – I grab the big cheap packs from Costco. They clean better than regular rags (especially with grime and dust), even though I hate how they feel on my hands.
  • Simple homemade cleaners – usually:
    • Vinegar + water + a couple drops of dish soap in a spray bottle
    • A Tide mix: about a teaspoon of Tide in a gallon of water, plus a drop of dish soap (skip the bleach on surfaces like fiberglass)
  • A store‑bought glass/mirror cleaner, including a foaming one I love for mirrors and glass microwave fronts.
  • Disinfecting wipes just for true “germy” messes (like raw meat juices).
  • Magic Erasers, pumice stone, and grout scrubbing for deeper bathroom and toilet jobs.

I also lean on routines: a “Saturday clean” where we all clean together, plus a rotating 20‑minute deep‑clean in one area each week (kitchen one week, bathrooms another, etc.), so big projects don’t pile up.

Is there a specific room or mess you’re trying to tackle right now?
