Hi, I’m Hilary Erickson from The Pregnancy Nurse.

I don’t have one single “definitive guide” to my parenting philosophy in a neat manifesto, but it really shows up across a few things I’ve created:

  • Practical Parenting: my course on family routines, chores, and systems so home life feels calmer and kids help more
  • Supporting Success (formerly School Mom): my book on helping kids thrive in the public school system
  • My podcast episodes and posts on things like abundance vs fear-based parenting, where I focus on:
    • Teaching real-life skills over controlling every outcome
    • Letting kids make age-appropriate choices (clothes, devices, friends) and then talking through natural consequences
    • Using open communication instead of shame or fear
    • Building routines so kids can be more independent and confident

If you want the closest thing to a “guide,” I’d say combining Practical Parenting (for home systems) with Supporting Success (for school) gives the best overall picture of how I approach parenting.

Are you more interested in routines at home, school success, or the mindset side (like fear-based vs positive parenting)?
