What are the differences between Cricut Maker and Silhouette according to Hilary Erickson?

According to my experience, both the Cricut Maker and Silhouette are cutting machines that can create personalized items and gifts. However, they do have some differences.

The Cricut Maker is versatile and can cut a variety of materials including paper, vinyl, fabric, tissue, leather, and even wood. It has a feature that picks the blade and pressure for you, which is a big plus. The Maker also has storage compartments and a user-friendly software called Design Space. However, it's quite large and heavy, and the setup process can be a bit overwhelming.

On the other hand, the Silhouette is smaller and more portable, making it easier to use for small projects. It has a great software interface called Silhouette Studio, which is a bit harder to use but offers more options once you get the hang of it. However, it has fewer materials to cut from and you have to manually change your blade length.

If you're planning to make stickers, I'd recommend the Silhouette because its software is excellent for creating and duplicating stickers. But for other projects like vinyl and personalizing items, I'd lean towards the Cricut Maker. It's simpler and more intuitive to use.
