Question
How does Shari Stamps approach positive parenting during the terrible twos?
Answer
As a mom of six, I've had my fair share of experiences with the "terrible twos". I believe in a balanced approach to parenting during this challenging phase. I understand that two-year-olds are full of big emotions and are still learning how to navigate the world.
When my little ones start hitting or biting, I firmly say "no" or "we don't hit". I try to avoid giving hugs and kisses immediately after as it might send mixed signals. I also try to create a calm environment, especially during meltdowns, and I've found that car rides can be helpful for nap time and maintaining adult sanity.
Remember, every child is unique and what works for one might not work for another. It's all about finding what works best for your family.
Do you have any specific challenges you're facing with your two-year-old?
