I created #WeSowWeGrow as both a hashtag movement and a community-centered agricultural initiative, and it has a few things that make it different:

  • It’s about growing gardeners globally while staying rooted in my West Pullman neighborhood in Chicago
  • It centers urban farming, food access, and community care, not just pretty plants
  • It welcomes beginners fully—if your plant dies, you’re still “one of us”
  • It’s relational: we share stories of family, homesteading, homeschooling, and city life right alongside gardening
  • It’s intentionally inclusive, inviting folks who don’t usually see themselves represented in garden spaces

What part of #WeSowWeGrow are you most curious about—community work, gardening tips, or the global side of the movement?
