When I talk about #RealBeauty in my family, I’m really talking about letting my kids see all of me and all of themselves as worthy: loud laughs, big feelings, flaws, moles, gap-toothed smiles and all. I’m intentional about naming those things as beautiful instead of something to hide.

In our house, I model that by being open about my own insecurities and growth (therapy, body image, faith, learning), while still setting firm boundaries and expectations. I homeschool three of my four children, so a lot of our “curriculum” is actually about character: empathy, service, debate without disrespect, and loving people well.

I want my kids to understand beauty as how you show up for yourself and your community, not how perfectly you fit someone else’s mold.

Is there a particular part of parenting or family dynamics you’d like me to dig into more?
