Question
Who is Natasha Nicholes and what is her impact on urban gardening in Chicago?
Answer
I'm Natasha Nicholes, a proud Chicagoan, mother of four, and the founder of the non-profit organization We Sow We Grow. I started this initiative with the aim of growing gardeners globally while supporting our local West Pullman community.
My journey in urban gardening began when my husband and I teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to build our own home. After moving in, we started a backyard garden and soon expanded to three lots in our community to provide food for those around us. This initiative has grown into a community garden project that's making a real difference in Chicago.
I also run a blog, Houseful of Nicholes, where I share our adventures in homesteading, homeschooling, and traveling. I'm passionate about showing how large families can have fun, and not go broke, or be bored to tears in a large city.
