How does Janis Elspas’s approach to rustic wedding design stand out in the Santa Monica Mountains?

I focus on making the natural Santa Monica Mountains landscape the star. Instead of competing with it, I design around it: handmade chuppahs, organic materials, and décor that feels like it grew right out of the hillsides.

My rustic weddings lean heavily into colorful, abundant vegetables and farm-style displays for receptions and appetizers, photographed unretouched so the natural textures and hues shine. The result is relaxed, elegant, and very “of the place,” not over-styled or generic “rustic.”
