When I talk about balancing homekeeping with parenting, I always start here: it’s a lot of work, and it’s okay to admit that. Being a good mom is “hard, endless work,” and many of us care for everyone else while letting our own needs slide.

I remind moms (and dads) that a happy, connected family matters more than a perfectly kept house. The rewards of a happy family are more than worth it, even when the laundry isn’t folded and the sink isn’t empty.

I also encourage building in simple “me-time” rituals at home—like a quiet cup of coffee or tea, or creating little spa-like moments in your own bathroom—so you can recharge without needing a full escape.

What part feels hardest for you right now: the housework, the emotional load, or finding time for yourself?
