Hi there!

When I’m photographing vibrant flowers in Beverly Hills (like those fuchsia azaleas and lilacs I’ve shared), I focus on a few key tools rather than a huge kit:

  • A DSLR or mirrorless camera with a fast prime (like a 35mm or 50mm) for creamy backgrounds
  • A close-focusing lens or macro for detail shots of petals and stamens
  • A lightweight reflector to bounce gentle light onto the flowers
  • A simple lens hood to cut glare in bright California sun
  • Comfortable shoes and a small bag so I can move freely around gardens and yards

Shooting in natural light—especially early morning or late afternoon—matters more than any fancy gear for getting those rich, saturated colors.

Are you shooting with a phone or a camera right now?
