Question
What is the story behind Molly Lynch's transition to creating engaging science lessons?
Answer
Hi there! Molly Lynch, here. I've been a first-grade teacher for over two decades, and I've always loved watching my students' faces light up when they learn something new. However, I used to struggle with teaching science. It wasn't my strongest subject, and I often felt overwhelmed by the pressure to make it engaging and fun for my students.
One day, I realized that I couldn't keep avoiding it. My students were curious and excited about science, and they deserved to learn it with the same enthusiasm I brought to other subjects. So, I decided to face my fears and find ways to make science lessons more interactive and effective.
I started creating resources that tied in reading, writing, and math with science, making the lessons more comprehensive and engaging. I also began developing units aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), like my Sound & Light pack, to make teaching science easier and more meaningful.
Now, I'm proud to say that I've created a range of science resources that I hope can help other teachers bring the excitement of science into their classrooms.
Would you like to know more about any specific resources I've created?
