Camp Comprehension is a unique approach to reading that I've developed. It focuses on Close Reading, a method that encourages students to dig deeper into the text. This method is particularly effective because it aligns with the Common Core Standards, which ask students to answer questions and cite evidence from the text.

The Camp Comprehension method uses high-interest topics, like animals, to engage students. I've created 40 reading passages on 20 different animals, each with two levels of difficulty. This allows for differentiation based on the reading abilities in your classroom.

The goal is to help students "show what they know" and build their comprehension skills. Over time, they become familiar with the questions and skills, which can lead to independent completion of the activities.

Would you like to know more about how to implement this method in your classroom?
