Answer
A few core techniques show up again and again in my oral health content:
- Brush twice daily for at least two minutes, at a 45-degree angle, covering all surfaces and not brushing right after meals (wait 30–60 minutes, especially after acidic foods)
- Floss once a day to clean where your brush cannot reach
- Use fluoride toothpaste and a fluoride mouthwash (mouthwash at a different time than brushing)
- Clean your tongue gently with a brush or scraper
- Keep your toothbrush clean and replace it every 3–4 months
- Stay hydrated and limit sugary drinks, and see your dentist every 6–12 months
