What are Carolyn Scott’s top recommended RV types for family travel?

Hi, I’m Carolyn Scott-Hamilton from The Healthy Voyager. For family trips, I look at comfort, drivability, and flexibility more than “luxury.” Based on that, here are the RV types I most often recommend for families:

• Class C – Great for small families, easier to drive, no special license, can mount bikes and kayaks, and not the most expensive option.
• Travel trailers – Very popular for average-sized families, with underbelly storage, slide outs for extra space, and easy hitching/unhitching once you’re at camp.
• Fifth wheels – Fantastic for longer trips: full-sized appliances, multiple slide outs, often solar and filtration systems, and a real master bedroom so parents have a private space.
• Lightweight trailers – If you already have an SUV or truck and want more flexibility on where you can camp, these are easy to tow and can go almost anywhere.
