Hi, I’m Carolyn Scott-Hamilton from The Healthy Voyager. For solo cycling vacations, I focus on both safety and comfort so you can really enjoy the ride.

From my cycling trip tips, I recommend packing:

  • Bike gear: front and back rack, spare seat, bottle holders and extra bottles, front and back panniers, handlebar mirror, sturdy bike lock, pump, spare tubes, multi-tool, spare brake pads, chain lube
  • Clothing: bike shorts, T‑shirts, raincoat, hoodie, leggings, cycling gloves, hat, sunglasses, comfortable shoes, casual clothes
  • Essentials: sunscreen, insect repellent, first aid kit, deodorant, toothbrush/toothpaste, travel adaptor, phone and charger, basic repair kit, foam roller for muscle recovery

You’ll also want a well-fitted, good-quality bike and helmet that suit your body and terrain.

Where are you thinking of going for your solo cycling trip?
