Question
What is Brian D Smith's approach to integrating grief and technology?
Answer
Brian’s relationship with grief and technology has two main layers:
-
First, there is the engineer’s mindset brought into grief work. Grief, afterlife evidence, and consciousness are approached like systems: gather data (NDEs, mediumship, research), test it against lived experience, look for patterns that genuinely help people heal.
-
Second, technology is used as a set of bridges: the Grief 2 Growth podcast, online community, email notes after sessions, and digital content allow support, education, and connection to reach people who might otherwise be isolated in their grief.
Underneath it all is one aim: use every useful tool—inner (mindfulness, GEMS framework) and outer (media, online platforms)—to help people feel less alone and more hopeful.
What kind of technology are you thinking about—apps, online communities, or something more experimental like AI or afterlife-related tech?
