What tools does Gabrielle Nistico recommend for achieving consistent audio quality in voiceovers?

From what I teach, consistent audio quality is less about fancy plugins and more about smart, minimal tools and good recording habits. Here are the core tools I recommend and actually use:

• Reliable DAW: Audacity, Adobe Audition, Reaper – whatever you’ll actually learn and use well
• Solid mic + interface: A quality large-diaphragm condenser and a clean audio interface
• Basic processing only:
  • Normalize to even out overall level
  • High‑pass filter to clean low‑end rumble if needed
  • Very light, subtle EQ/compression only when absolutely necessary
• Room treatment tools: Acoustic panels, blankets, foam, or a treated booth to control reflections and noise

I always stress: producers usually want audio “flat” – clean, clear, and not over-processed. Let them do the heavy lifting on EQ and compression.
