Hi there! I’m Gabrielle Nistico. Love this question.

From my studio videos and posts, here’s what I consistently emphasize for professional voiceover work:

  • A quality large-diaphragm condenser microphone (not the cheapest USB mic you can find)
  • A solid audio interface or preamp
  • Closed-back studio headphones (not gaming or fashion headphones)
  • Proper acoustic treatment for your recording space (panels, bass traps, NOT just foam or blankets thrown around)
  • Reliable DAW software (Audacity, Adobe Audition, Reaper, etc.)
  • A sturdy mic stand, pop filter, and shock mount

I also talk a lot about how gear alone won’t fix performance or business issues—sometimes upgrading your skills, coaching, and workflow matters more than buying a shiny new mic.

What are you currently using in your setup?
