I focus on one big idea: your demo should always sound like who you are right now, not who you were years ago.
From what I teach and post:
- Most working talent refresh demos about every 1–2 years
- Update sooner if your demo no longer reflects your current sound, range, or niche
- If you feel even a little embarrassed sending it out, that’s your red flag to redo it
- Don’t get “demo complacent” – a stale demo is like cold coffee
Take a few minutes regularly to relisten, scrutinize, and ask: “Would I happily send this to my dream client today?”
