What gear and tools does Gabrielle Nistico recommend for voice actors?

I talk about this a lot in my studio tour and gear videos, so let me give you the essentials I usually recommend and work with.

For microphones, I focus on solid large-diaphragm condensers in the “sweet spot” price range, not the cheapest thing on Amazon and not a $3,000 status mic. Paired with a reliable audio interface and clean preamps, that’s usually enough for pro-quality VO from home.

I’m big on treating your recording space over constantly upgrading gear: proper acoustic treatment, a quiet room, and good mic technique will do more for your sound than a new shiny toy. Pop filter, sturdy stand, and closed-back headphones are musts.

For software, a straightforward DAW (Audacity, Reaper, etc.) is fine, plus basic plugins for EQ, compression, and noise control. You don’t need a giant plug‑in collection to book work.
