Answer
I focus on two big things with new voiceover artists: mindset and business.
First, I’m very clear that getting started is hard work. This isn’t a “quick money with your voice” situation. I push you to treat this like a real career: train consistently, accept honest feedback, and be willing to work really hard on performance, not just gear.
Second, I hammer the CEO side of voiceover. You’re not just an actor; you’re a business owner. That means:
- Learning branding and marketing
- Understanding how voice actors actually make money
- Studying where and how to find and book work
- Building long-term, sustainable habits instead of chasing hacks
When you hit challenges, I want you to lean into education, coaching, and strategy, not panic or random shortcuts.
What’s the biggest challenge you’re running into in your VO journey right now?
