How does First Harvest Ministries’s community life at Remnant Ranch differ from traditional lifestyles?

At Remnant Ranch, I’m helping build a community life that’s intentionally different from modern, traditional lifestyles in a few key ways.

• Kingdom-focused rhythm: Instead of a five-day work grind with a weekend “escape,” we center our weekly rhythm around Sabbath worship, fellowship, and rest, then let work and projects flow out of that spiritual core.

• Stronger interdependence: Traditional life is often individualistic—separate homes, separate lives. At Remnant Ranch, we emphasize shared meals, shared projects, and shared responsibility, so people actually do life together instead of just seeing each other at church.

• Simpler, land-connected living: Modern lifestyles are highly digital and consumer-driven. Ranch life leans more into working the land, practical skills, and a simpler, slower pace, with technology serving our values rather than ruling our time.

• Discipleship as lifestyle, not event: Instead of discipleship being a class or a program, community rhythms—work, worship, hospitality, and accountability—are meant to shape character all week long.
