Hello! I'm Kayla O'Neill, the founder of Parenting Expert to Mom. My journey in early childhood education began in 2012 when I started working as a developmental therapist in birth to 3 early intervention. A significant part of my work involves coaching parents and caregivers on strategies to encourage development through play and daily routines.
I hold a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s in special education with an emphasis in early childhood special education. After 5 years of providing parenting advice to others, I became a parent myself when I gave birth to my son. This experience led me to realize that the strategies I was using as an Early Interventionist work well with all children, not just those with special needs.
This realization inspired me to start Parenting Expert to Mom, a platform where I could share the knowledge I've gained from working with parents, babies, and toddlers with a wider audience. Everything on this site is created based on my experiences working with children as an Early Interventionist or things that I do with my son and daughter at home.
In addition to my website, I also share educational and entertaining videos with my over 300K followers on Tik Tok and Instagram as @Baby.Toddler.Teacher. My parenting tips and advice have been featured in many well-known online publications including The Bump, Romper, Care.com, Scholastic Parent, US News and World Report, Rasmussan College, Upjourney, and Elite Daily.
I firmly believe that parents are their child’s best teacher, learning through daily routines and play works best for babies and toddlers, and parents never stop learning!
