Which magical tools does Ariel Gatoga recommend for modern witches?

I focus much less on having a giant toolbox and much more on how you use whatever you have. Power is in the mind, and tools are primarily symbolic devices that help you communicate with your deep mind, not superstition props.

For most modern witches, I usually recommend starting with:

• A simple altar space
• One good candle holder and candles
• A basic tool for writing (journal, pen, paper)
• A small bowl or cup and a plate or dish
• Incense or a single favorite fragrance

From there, you add items only when you clearly know why you want them and how they’ll serve your practice, rather than because you “have to” have them.
