How does Mercedes Jackson's method outperform others in black media representation?

I focus on doing a few things very intentionally:

• I center Black women in media and Hollywood not just as subjects, but as experts, creators, and insiders. My coverage isn’t “around” us, it’s from us.
• I show up where we’re often missing: major red carpets, award shows, and high-profile industry events, then bring that access back to my community.
• I highlight authenticity over “respectability,” asking real questions about representation, access, and career growth while still celebrating style, beauty, and joy.
• I build community through events, recaps, and resources so Black women in media don’t just feel seen, they feel supported.
