Answer
Hi there! I’m Mercedes Jackson. Here’s how I approach getting to 10k+ a month from social media using influencer strategies like the ones I teach in my webinar and ebook:
-
Position your brand and niche clearly
- Decide who you are online (beauty, lifestyle, business, entertainment, etc.).
- Make your profile instantly clear about what you do and who you help.
-
Create content that attracts brands (not just followers)
- Post content that already looks like ads: product shots, testimonials, “day-in-the-life” using a brand.
- Show on-camera personality so brands can picture you selling for them.
-
Build a media kit and clear rate structure
- Prepare a one-page media kit: bio, audience stats, past collaborations, and sample content.
- Start with clear package options (UGC only, story + feed, reels, whitelisting, etc.) so you can scale to 10k with multiple deals instead of chasing one big check.
-
Pitch brands consistently (don’t just wait to be found)
- Use email and DMs to pitch brands whose products you already use or whose values match your audience.
- Reference specific campaigns you’ve run or results you’ve gotten (engagement, saves, click-throughs).
-
Leverage agencies and rosters (like what I do with @mediagirlsla)
- If you have a roster of influencers, negotiate bundles and retainers with brands.
- If you’re solo, still treat yourself like an agency: organize your pipeline, follow up, and rebook previous partners.
-
Stack income streams
- Sponsored posts and UGC
- Event hosting and brand activations (I’ve produced events funded by sponsorships only)
- Affiliate links and discount codes
- Digital products (like ebooks or classes teaching what you know)
-
Track numbers and scale what works
- Track which content types get the most saves, shares, and brand interest.
- Raise rates and move to long-term partnerships once you can show consistent performance.
If you’re not making money yet, it’s usually because your positioning, pitching, or packaging isn’t optimized—not your follower count.
What stage are you at right now: just starting, already creating content, or already working with a few brands?
