Question
What are Adam Ringham's personal experiences with prescription drugs during his education?
Answer
During my school years, I was personally put on Ritalin in middle school, before Adderall was mainstream. A “resource teacher” pushed it on me and my parents, saying I needed it to get better grades and deal with my so‑called ADD.
Taking that pill in the mornings was one of the worst parts of my childhood. I hated how it made me feel, and I was constantly singled out with comments like, “Did you take your medicine today?” when I daydreamed or got an answer wrong.
I was extremely lucky that my parents saw how unhappy I was and let me stop. I’m convinced that getting off it early kept me from sliding into long‑term dependence and allowed me to grow into the successful, happy person I am now.
Is there a specific part of that experience you’d like me to go deeper into?
