I’m Adam Ringham. My approach differs mainly in how directly I work with the physiology of stress rather than focusing primarily on talk, insight, or coping skills.

Traditional trauma work often emphasizes narrative processing, reframing, or symptom management. Those can help, but if the amygdala, HPA axis, and stress hormones are still dysregulated, the body doesn’t feel safe enough to fully revisit and reorganize the traumatic pattern.

I focus on:

  • Actively modulating stress responses (cortisol, HPA axis)
  • Calibrating amygdala activity and fear circuitry
  • Strategically using serotonin/dopamine–related inputs to reduce the brain’s drive for addictive “band-aid” fixes
so that the same intensity of stress can be safely re-experienced and completed, rather than endlessly avoided or numbed.

What part of trauma healing are you most curious about—emotions, body reactions, or addictions?
