From my broader perspective on modern medicine, the DSM is another example of the same flawed mindset I’ve criticized elsewhere: label, medicate, and move on, instead of asking what actually creates health.

Conventional practice tends to:

  • Treat DSM labels as objective truths
  • Match labels to drugs
  • Ignore root causes like toxicity, nutrition, trauma, environment, and lifestyle

My view challenges this by saying:

  • A diagnosis isn’t the same as understanding
  • Symptoms are messengers, not “disorders” to be suppressed
  • True health work means getting people off the “a pill for every ill” conveyor belt and taking responsibility for their internal and external terrain

In other words, the DSM keeps the system focused on managing labels instead of restoring human beings.

What aspect of the DSM are you most curious or skeptical about?
