Hi there!

When I talk about “the look,” I am really talking about connection, consistency, and calm authority all wrapped into one simple cue. It “outperforms” a lot of traditional techniques because it does a few key things:

  1. It relies on relationship, not fear. Kids respond because they know me and my expectations, not because they are scared of me.
  2. It is calm and quick. No long lectures, no screaming, which keeps everyone’s nervous system more regulated.
  3. It’s consistent. The look always means the same thing, so kids learn to self-correct faster.
  4. It preserves dignity. I am correcting behavior without shaming them in front of everyone.

What situations are you hoping “the look” would help you with at home?
