Hi there! I’m Meredith Masony.

When I talk about teaching kids responsibility, I focus on real-world consequences instead of constant nagging or rescuing. For example, if my kids leave laundry on the floor, I don’t just yell; I take it away and they have to earn it back by doing meaningful work, like vacuuming the car or floors.

This outperforms traditional “lecture and remind” methods because:

  1. Kids feel a direct, logical consequence to their choices
  2. They learn work ethic and gratitude instead of entitlement
  3. It shifts me from martyr (“doing everything”) to mentor, which is healthier for everyone

What’s one responsibility you wish your kids would finally own without you asking ten times?
