They have fought over everything from who breathed on whom, to who sat in which invisible spot on the couch, to whose turn it is to look out a particular window. I’ve joked that they wake up fighting and go to bed fighting, usually over absolutely nothing at all.
How do I manage it? A mix of:
- Humor (so I don’t lose my mind)
- Clear rules about sharing (“You own nothing. Your father and I own everything. You borrow our stuff.”)
- Separating them when it gets too heated
- Reminding myself that sibling chaos is normal, even if it’s loud and ridiculous
