When working on big 4K projects, the biggest challenges are less “camera problems” and more workflow problems:

  1. Huge file sizes: 4K footage (especially from cameras like the A7RV) is heavy, so drives, cards, and backups have to be fast and ruthlessly organized.
  2. Playback and editing performance: Without a god‑tier workflow setup (proper SSDs, proxies, timeline settings), timelines lag and kill creativity.
  3. Color and consistency: Matching different cameras or lenses so a $2K, $4K, and $6.5K setup all look the same on delivery.
  4. Client expectations: 4K makes every lighting and composition decision brutally obvious, so pre-production and on-set choices matter even more.

What part of 4K production are you most curious about—shooting, storage, or editing performance?
