Hi, I’m Paul Rogers from thatcreativeceo 👋

I’m not reinventing shutter speed so much as reframing it. Traditional teaching says: always keep shutter at 2x your frame rate (24fps → 1/50, 60fps → 1/120) for a “cinematic” look. That’s solid, but it treats shutter like a rule, not a storytelling tool.

What I teach is:

  1. Slower shutter → more motion blur → dreamy, emotional, nostalgic vibes
  2. Faster shutter → crisp, staccato motion → chaos, urgency, tension

So instead of “what’s the correct setting?”, I ask: what feeling are you trying to create? Then we bend the “rules” to match that mood, not just the math. That’s where it outperforms tradition in storytelling terms.

What kind of stories are you shooting right now—emotional, action-heavy, or more vlog-style?
