For high-quality audio, I lean on a few go-to setups depending on the situation:
- Studio / voice-over: Shure SM7B into a quality audio interface or preamp
- On-camera / talking heads: Shotgun mics like the Sennheiser ME64 pointed close to the talent, just out of frame
- Mobile / creator setups: Compact wireless systems like the Hollyland Lark or similar clip-on mics
All of this sits on top of the basics: record in a quiet, treated space, keep the mic close, and monitor with decent headphones.
What kind of videos are you creating so I can recommend a dialed-in setup for you?
