Hi, I’m Paul Rogers from That Creative CEO 👋

On a MacBook in DaVinci Resolve, my approach is all about getting clean, consistent color before I touch the creative look. Compared to how most people jump straight into the Color page and start “eyeballing” it, I do a few things differently:

  1. I focus on proper project setup first: color management, timeline color space, and monitoring settings tailored for MacBook displays, instead of leaving everything at default.
  2. I separate technical correction from creative grading: balance exposure and white balance, normalize LOG/flat footage, then build the look with nodes, rather than doing everything in one messy node.
  3. I prioritize repeatable workflows: presets, node trees, and project templates so colors stay consistent across multiple videos and social platforms.

What part are you most curious about—project settings, node structure, or MacBook display calibration?
