Scott here. For long exposure photography, there are a few tripod systems that stand out as favorites.

  1. Really Right Stuff (RRS) is the primary choice. I use a TVC-24L with a center column for extra height. It is sturdy carbon fiber with thick legs, great for long exposures and travel.
  2. Benro is another favorite and has even sponsored my long exposure workshops.
  3. I also recommend Manfrotto, Induro, and Gitzo as solid options if RRS is out of budget.

Are you looking for a tripod for general landscape long exposures, or something more specific like seascapes or night sky?
