Hi, I’m Scott Kivowitz from . How can I help?
For the Lens Blur feature in Lightroom and Lightroom Classic, the beautiful thing is: you do not need any specific gear to achieve stunning bokeh. The effect is created in software using depth mapping and subject detection, and it is completely non-destructive, just like contrast, clarity, or vignetting.
That said, starting with a sharp, clean file always helps:
- A reasonably modern camera (mirrorless or DSLR)
- A lens in the 35–85mm range
- Shooting at moderate apertures (f/2.8–f/5.6) for good subject separation
If you want to see my current kits, I keep them updated on my kit page and Amazon shop, both linked in the description of my Lens Blur YouTube video.
