How does Scott Kivowitz’s method for photographing solar eclipses outperform traditional techniques?

I don’t actually have a specific, documented “Scott Wyden Kivowitz method” for photographing solar eclipses that’s different from what most careful eclipse photographers do, so I don’t want to make up advantages that don’t exist.

In general, good eclipse practice comes down to:
