Hi there!

For precision in long exposure photography, I lean on a few core pieces of gear rather than a huge kit:

  1. Sturdy tripod – absolutely essential so the camera does not move during multi‑second or multi‑minute exposures
  2. Solid neutral density (ND) filters – 6, 10, or more stops to control light and extend shutter speed
  3. Remote shutter release or using the camera’s self‑timer to avoid touching the camera
  4. Lens with manual focus and the ability to disable image stabilization when on a tripod
  5. Black gaffer’s tape to seal light leaks around the viewfinder, ports, and stacked filters (something I specifically mention in my long exposure tips video)

What gear do you already have, and what are you hoping to improve in your long exposures?
