Hi there!

From what I’ve shared publicly, my main recommendation isn’t a specific camera body or lens, but a workflow that keeps your framing flexible and your cropping decisions smart:

  1. Camera gear
    1. Any modern DSLR or mirrorless that lets you shoot RAW
    2. Lenses with minimal distortion for critical work (often a normal or short telephoto)
    3. Enough resolution (megapixels) to allow comfortable cropping in post
  2. Software
    1. I recommend cropping in post-processing, not in-camera
    2. My go‑to is Adobe Lightroom (or Camera Raw) for:
      1. Non‑destructive cropping
      2. Easy aspect ratio changes
      3. Straightening and removing distractions (as in my “crop out distractions” critique video)

So: compose carefully in camera, leave a little breathing room, and do your final, precise crop in Lightroom or similar RAW editors.

What camera and software are you using right now?
