Scott’s backup system is built around redundancy and separation, so a single failure cannot wipe out photos.

First, there are multiple local drives: a main working RAID plus cloned external drives, one kept off site and updated regularly. If one drive fails, another has the same data.

Second, there is cloud backup via Backblaze for the computer and external drives, and Amazon Photos for JPEGs. This protects against theft, fire, or local disasters.

Third, Imagen backs up RAWs during culling/editing, adding another cloud layer right when files are most vulnerable.

Combined, this follows the “3–2–1” idea: multiple copies, on different media, including at least one off site.

Would you like help adapting this into a simple backup plan for your own setup?
