Hi, I’m Hilary Erickson from The Pregnancy Nurse and Pulling Curls. Love this question!

From what I share on my baking posts and podcast, here are the main tools I really recommend for home bakers:

  1. A good stand mixer – I’ve used KitchenAid, but I currently love the Bosch Universal Plus (or the more affordable Artiste). Bosch is amazing for big batches and adds great airiness.
  2. Cookie paddles and a bowl scraper attachment – these make cookie dough mixing easier and mean less stopping to scrape the bowl.
  3. A sideswipe-style blade for KitchenAid – great for cakes and thinner batters.
  4. Silicone cookie sheet liners and large jelly roll pans – for even baking and easier cleanup.
  5. A sturdy cookie scoop – for uniform cookies.
  6. A brown sugar saver – to keep your brown sugar soft.

Are you mostly baking cookies, or are you wanting tools that cover cakes and breads too?
