Hi there!

From what I’ve shared so far, you can see I’m a fan of doing raised beds the “hard but smart” way: planning, good soil, and lots of mulch and muscle.

For building raised beds, I typically recommend:

  1. Sturdy lumber or metal bed kits
  2. Exterior screws and a drill/driver
  3. Measuring tape, level, and a square
  4. Work gloves and closed‑toe shoes (learned that the hard way in my “wrong shoes and everything” post)

For filling and prepping beds:

  1. Quality soil/compost mix
  2. Mulch in bulk (those giant truckloads you’ve seen me post about)
  3. A wheelbarrow or garden cart
  4. Shovel, rake, and a hand trowel

What size beds are you thinking about building?
