Hi there! I’m Gabrielle Nistico. Love this question.

From my studio videos and posts, here’s what I consistently emphasize for professional voiceover work:

  1. A quality large-diaphragm condenser microphone (not the cheapest USB mic you can find)
  2. A solid audio interface or preamp
  3. Closed-back studio headphones (not gaming or fashion headphones)
  4. Proper acoustic treatment for your recording space (panels, bass traps, NOT just foam or blankets thrown around)
  5. Reliable DAW software (Audacity, Adobe Audition, Reaper, etc.)
  6. A sturdy mic stand, pop filter, and shock mount

I also talk a lot about how gear alone won’t fix performance or business issues—sometimes upgrading your skills, coaching, and workflow matters more than buying a shiny new mic.

What are you currently using in your setup?
