Hi, I’m Gabrielle Nistico from The Gift of Gab. How can I help?

Based on my studio walk-through and gear videos, here is the kind of setup I recommend aspiring voice actors aim for:

  1. Microphone – A solid large‑diaphragm condenser (think along the lines of Rode, Audio-Technica, Sennheiser, Neumann when budget allows). Prioritize clarity and low self-noise over brand hype.
  2. Audio interface – A simple, clean interface (Focusrite, Audient, etc.) is plenty. You do not need a giant mixer.
  3. Headphones/monitors – Closed‑back headphones for recording, honest speakers for editing if your room allows.
  4. Software (DAW) – Any reliable DAW you’re comfortable with (Audacity, Reaper, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, etc.). There is no “one best” – it is about what you can use quickly and confidently.
  5. Treatment first, then toys – The most important “gear” is your recording space. Invest in acoustic treatment before chasing expensive mics or plugins.

If you tell me your budget and current setup, I can suggest a more concrete starter chain.

What gear do you already own, if any?
