For aspiring voiceover artists, I generally recommend:
- A solid XLR condenser mic (mid-range, not the cheapest USB, not a $3k diva mic)
- A reliable audio interface with clean preamps
- Closed-back headphones for editing and proofing
- Simple, stable DAW software (Audacity, Adobe Audition, Reaper, etc.)
- Proper acoustic treatment before you splurge on higher-end mics
