- A quality large-diaphragm condenser mic (not a USB mic for long-term use)
- A solid audio interface (reliable preamp + conversion)
- Closed-back headphones for accurate monitoring
- A properly treated recording space/booth (acoustic treatment matters more than fancy gear)
- A stable computer + recording software (DAW) you can learn well
Once those are in place, then you upgrade piece by piece instead of buying everything at once.
